What is terminal aging test? Terminal aging test methods and standards

What is terminal aging test?

Wiring terminal aging test: it is to judge the service life of the wiring terminal. If the aging is fast, the service life will be short, and if the aging is slow, the service life will be long. Terminal aging test can effectively evaluate the quality of products by detecting the electrical connection quality of products.

Terminal aging test methods and standards

1. install 5 terminals horizontally on a guide rail, and connect them with wires with rated cross-sectional area. The connecting wires shall be at least 300mm long, and then measure the voltage drop of each terminal;

2. the lower and upper temperature limits in the aging box are set to 20 ℃ and 75 ℃ respectively;

3. the rated current flows through the heating phase and the continuous phase of 10min after reaching the higher temperature. In this way, the test piece will reach the higher allowable working temperature. Here, we should clearly know that the higher maximum temperature is 120 ℃.

4. the next step is the cooling process. In the cooling state after every 24 heating and cooling cycles, the voltage drop is measured once. The whole test process has 192 cycles.

5. the voltage drop before the test shall not exceed 3.2mv, the voltage drop during and after the test shall not exceed 4.8mv, and the measured value after 24 cycles shall not exceed 1.5 times of the initial value before the test.
